VTU Energy, the expert company for comprehensive software solutions for the power industry, has been awarded the plant accounting and settlement systems for the Noor 2 and Noor 3 Independent Solar Power Plants which are the next phases of the Moroccan mega project to create the world’s largest solar park. In its final stage, the Ouarzazate complex will produce 580 MW of solar electricity from several utility-scale solar power plants using various solar technologies.
Similar to its predecessor Noor 1, the Noor 2 independent solar power plant will be based on the parabolic trough CSP technology with a capacity of 200 MW and 7 hours of storage.
Noor 3 ISP will apply solar tower technology and molten salt thermal energy storage capability up to 7 hours and will produce a nominal output of 150 MW.
Both plants will be developed by ACWA Power of Saudi Arabia on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis with Power Purchase Agreements governing the electricity sales from these plants for 25 years.

“VTU Energy’s diligence in supplying the settlement system for the Noor 1 ISP has been the key factor in convincing the customer to choose our company again”, says Josef Petek, commercial manager of VTU Energy, “and being successful in this market now for ten years with recurring customers is the proof that not only our products are superior in quality, but also that VTU excels in supporting our customers’ daily operations under complex power purchase agreements.”
