In cooperation with E.ON Energy Projects of Germany, ENEXSA developed a model of the industrial CHP plant Plattling (120 MWel.) which serves as a tool for optimal operations planning. ENEXSA supplied the thermodynamic model of the plant and all software components while E.ON Energy Projects provided the commercial model for the operation of the CHP plant.
For each hour of the day-ahead planning, the most economical operating point is selected from a set of pre-defined operating modes while accounting for all revenues and costs under current market conditions. Besides daily dispatch optimization the model also supports mid-term operations planning. Initial operational experiences show that the software is a reliable tool for optimizing costs and revenues.
