Power purchase agreement for 1177 MW PV power plant will be settled with VTU’s PASS Plant Accounting and Settlement System.15.01.2018
VTU Energy, the Austrian expert company for settlement systems and performance models applied in long-term purchase agreements for public-private-partnership power projects has been tasked with the supply of a turn-key system for the Sweihan PV Independent Power Plant located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The Sweihan PV IPP will be built in four stages by Sterling & Wilson International FZE and shall produce up to 1177 MW upon completion scheduled for 2019.  VTU’s settlement system will process all metered data relevant for the Power Purchase Agreement and will also include a Plant Performance Model to evaluate expected performance based on input data for equipment availability, ambient conditions, and solar irradiation parameters.

Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company (ADWEC), the off-taker for all power produced by the IPP, will be able to verify the invoice generated by the plant with a copy of the PASS installed at their offices.

“We are very happy about this contract award”, says Dr. Peter Hartner, head of engineering at VTU Energy. “It is our first photovoltaic power plant, but we see from trends in the current IPP market that many more are likely to come.  With our vast experience in gas-fired and solar-thermal projects we are confident to enter new segments in the renewable IPP market.”
